With more than 20 years of construction experience in Chicago, Dan has designed and executed countless downtown high-rise modeling projects, historic renovations, additions, and north side new home construction projects. Dan is a business graduate from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, with a Carpentry degree from SCCC Gompers branch in Seattle. His attention to top quality construction, sound financial management, and a keen interest in green construction techniques, qualify Dan to direct any type of construction project from dream to reality. His favorite projects are the ones that require creative thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
Dan is an avid hiker, golfer and a Chicago sports fan. He and his wife Amy are the proud parents of two daughters and a son.
With a decade of construction experience, lead carpenter Marcin Maslowski is skilled in site preparation and foundations, as well as framing and general carpentry. He is responsible for subcontractor coordination, safety standards, and quality control. Marcin’s favorite Artifex project was a challenging historic home renovation at 4846 N. Kimbark, in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood, installing custom built-ins, panels, and fireplace mantles. When he’s not working, Marcin enjoys spending time with his wife Joanna and his family, or out on his bike for long trail rides.
A lead carpenter, with a talent for both fine finish carpentry and framing, Slawek has been a Carpenter for over 13 years. He is responsible for coordination of supplies and materials, and assists in coordinating trades on the job. His favorite projects are a full remodel of Sonixsphere, a downtown commercial recording studio that required custom-built viewing windows, and 333 W. Hubbard, a high-end multi-unit condo renovation with paneled crosscut oak walls and ceilings. When he’s not working, Slawek is rarely sitting still, as he plays soccer, basketball, and tennis. He and his wife Agnieszka are the proud parents of a son and daughter.
A master drywall and painter with carpentry skills, Pancho has been an integral part of Artifex for 9 years. His favorite projects were the construction of a gorgeous new home at 1822 W. Barry and an extensive remodel of a Lincoln Park Victorian home at 2042 W. Kenmore. Pancho likes to spend his weekends fishing or vacationing in Wisconsin with his wife Basi, their 3 children and his two granddaughters.
